Sexual harassment isn’t just a “women’s issue”, it’s a workplace culture issue. And men have a critical role to play as allies in stopping it.

What does it mean to be a male ally?
It means recognising harassment as unacceptable and actively working to challenge it. It means using your voice and influence to help create respectful workplaces.

What can male allies do?

✅ Call it out.
If you see or hear inappropriate comments, jokes, or behaviour — speak up. A simple “That’s not appropriate” or “Let’s not go there” sends a powerful signal.

✅ Don’t be a bystander.
Laughing along, staying silent, or ignoring the behaviour contributes to the problem.

✅ Listen to women’s experiences.
Believe them when they share concerns. Avoid minimising or excusing bad behaviour.

✅ Reflect on your own actions.
We all have blind spots. Ask yourself: could something I said or did be misinterpreted or hurtful?

✅ Champion change.
Support training, better policies, and union campaigns that promote respect and inclusion.

Male allies help shift workplace culture. Together, we can make harassment unacceptable, not inevitable.
