Research Officer

The following may be carried out individually by the Research & Projects Officer, or where necessary by leading a working group of selected Reps:

• Participation and/or leadership of union projects as defined by the Aegis Executive and/or Central Council
• Research union and/or company benchmarking of terms and conditions
• Research for the purposes of the company salary negotiations
• Research topics or subjects as required by Reps, Central Council or the Aegis Executive
• Research and organisational assistance of Aegis Development Day (ADD) venues, training, costs and any other information or arrangements required for the event
• Research of Aegis Annual Conference training, speakers and topics, and organisational assistance with Aegis annual Reps’ conference as necessary
• Build and maintain union relationships, generally and for research purposes, with the following groups:

  - the TUC
  - FISO (Federation of Insurance Staff Organisations)
  - our trade union consultants, Network Partnership
  - other unions
