What does your job with AEGON involve?
I deal with administration of pensions for customers over age 55 with policies over the value of £50,000, and pay out their tax-free cash.

What do you like best about it?
Lots of people think the work I do must be very mundane and it's the same thing over and over again, but actually it's not - all our customers' requirements are very different, and I like the variety of cases I deal with. I also really like speaking to all our IFAs and customers and doing what I can to help them.

What do you think makes you good at it?
I get on very well with people in all different walks of life, and can pretty much talk to anyone! I'm genuinely interested in people and love to see what they're all about and how I can help them.

How can you use this strength to benefit/help our members?
I'm comfortable speaking to anyone, really, and a lot of our members call on me to help them with difficult conversations. As I'm very much a people person, I think I'm well-placed to help all our members with most situations they may find themselves in.

What's the most important thing about being a union Rep as far as you're concerned?
I love being able to help our members turn difficult situations around and help them be treated fairly. Not everyone can speak up for themselves and I'm glad to be able to provide support when it's needed in this respect.
