What does your job with AEGON involve?
Managing the Documentation Support Team in AEGON Trustee Solutions. The team mainly deals with Final Salary schemes, issuing draft documentation which sets out the benefit structure and how the scheme should be run.
What do you like best about it?
Looking after a team who are technically competent and interested in what they do. I started off in Documentation many years ago and came back to manage the team about four years ago. Over the years, Documentation Support have often felt overlooked and I’ve been keen to raise the team’s profile and add value to what we can offer customers.
What do you think makes you good at it?
I’ve got a great team who work well together and happy to come to me to discuss work and other issues. I think that I’m prepared to listen and help people and am keen to help everyone progress their careers.
How can you use this strength to benefit/help our members?
I’m interested in people and in being able to help them. I’ve been with the company a long time and this helps me put change in context.
What's the most important thing about being a union Rep as far as you're concerned?
Helping employees and the company understand each others’ concerns so that issues can be resolved as amicably as possible.
