Job/position:
Sales Support

What does your job with AEGON involve?
I am a Sales Support Team Leader on the Wealth side and I work in the South West and Wales branch. A normal day would involve taking calls and new business enquiries from IFAs as well as producing quotes. I am also involved in some proactive work which includes promoting and attending seminars and chasing quotes. My Team Leader duties involve the allocation of work within the team on a day to day basis.

What do you like best about it?
I like talking to the IFAs and getting involved in the more in depth queries and problems. It is good to build a rapport with them over the phone, it’s very rewarding to get business coming in off the back of something you have done.

What do you think makes you good at it?
I like to think that I am a good listener who isn’t phased by getting involved in complicated issues and trying to get a solution that is to the benefit of all.

How can you use this strength to benefit/help our members?
I'm more than happy to be there for our members and do everything in my power to help them out when needed.

What's the most important thing about being a union Rep as far as you're concerned?
I think the most important thing is to be there for our members and to be able to understand their problems and help in whatever way possible in getting the fairest decision for all concerned.

Have you ever ...

... thought of becoming active in your union? There are several areas of the business where we need Reps, but you don't have to become a Rep to get involved. Speak to us to find out more!
